Hannah is the Bomb

Yep- don't know

why I didn't post these pics sooner.  I was a big loser on my birthday and didn't feel like making a fuss, but my sisters came over that night to give me their presents (and their presence!).  A little birdy must have told Carrie that I was wanting some paints because she gave me a gift certificate to my fave art store, Art Mart. 

And Hannah decided to put her craftiness to work!  She made me this cute little cloth basket and did her first ever Mod Podge project (we joked that Mod Podge Amy would be so proud!).  They are both so cute and thoughtful and color coordinated...

I snagged this from Hannah's studio a while ago- she claimed it was a "mess up", that it was too long, and that I could have it if I wanted it.  Um... Yes!  Perfect for my paint brushes and the bag and basket look so cute together, don't ya' think?

 She spray painted a wooden tray with gold spray paint and found some coordinating decorative paper, cut it to size, and 'podged it right on there!  I love it.

And then a few days later, Hannah showed up at my house with this print she found on Etsy from LuckyBluebirdArt that she thought I'd like- she was right!  We found a perfect spot in between some colored homemade poms on the wall.  Most of my room is black, beige, and white, so I love looking up at these pops of color.

Thank you, sisters- this really brightened my September.  I've got the best family in the world!!!

Handbags, Totes, and Diaper Bags, Oh MY!

Hannah and I had a work day today (except for our short meeting which took place in the pool!); I learned how to make stand alone pages within our blog (I know, I'm a little late to the game), and Hannah made a new diaper bag.  Earlier in the week, she made a new purse and two new cosmetic bags.  I also took pics of the purse she carries now, and a tote she uses for various things.  We took care of some much needed business and each have some homework to keep our business moving forward.  Look for FlyChicks labels coming soon to our handmade goods...

And Hannah's purse.  She's been carrying this one for a while (it was one of her first ones that she made!) and just today she said she thought it may be time for a new one.

Woo Hoo- We're in our First Boutique!

Hannah and I took a basket full of totes, handbags, and cosmetic bags to a local boutique today and the owner bought all of them!  We were looking around earlier in the week at some different stores and boutiques in the greater St. Louis area that would be a good match for FlyChicks goods.  Just after we walked into the fourth or fifth one, CHA, the owner commented that she liked my purse (of course I carry a FlyChicks original!)  I then showed her Hannah's purse too and she loved that as well; I told her that Hannah makes them.  She asked if we sold them and the rest is history!

Hannah was busy sewing all week (that is, when she wasn't bartending or running after her 2 year old, Jack) and I did what I could (I threw my back out not once, but twice in five days!) with branding and tagging and researching, while mostly laying down on a heating pad.  Hannah made some really cute totes and another handbag- everything she makes, I want to keep!  Unfortunately, the good pics are on Hannah's camera and I only got cell phone pics of the goodies before we took them off.  If I waited until Hannah sent me the pics, we might be waiting until next summer, so I'm just going to share my phone pics!

But... YEA!!!  We're really excited and looking forward to working with the owner, Sarah.  CHA is a super cute store and we think we are a great fit with them!
